"When misguided public opinion honors what is despicable and despises what is honorable, punishes virtue and rewards vice, encourages what is harmful and discourages what is useful, applauds falsehood and smothers truth under indifference or insult, a nation turns its back on progress and can be restored only by the terrible lessons of catastrophe." … Frederic Bastiat

Evil talks about tolerance only when it’s weak. When it gains the upper hand, its vanity always requires the destruction of the good and the innocent, because the example of good and innocent lives is an ongoing witness against it. So it always has been. So it always will be. And America has no special immunity to becoming an enemy of its own founding beliefs about human freedom, human dignity, the limited power of the state, and the sovereignty of God. – Archbishop Chaput

HUI finishes the day just shy of its all time high

  1. Excellent action in the HUI as well as physical gold and silver today!

  2. Dan,
do you have any views as to whether the hedge funds' ratio trade is in any way linked with (or co-conspiratorial with) the bullion banks' gold suppression scheme? If the hedge funds are not in bed with the bullion banks, today's action is very exciting!

  3. Does anyone have an opinion on SLX.TO (Silvermex) or SVL (Silvercrest)? They both seem to be quality companies, but both are lagging the action in silver.

  4. dfly, you might be better to ask your question over at Turd Ferguson's blog - lots of stock pickers there.

  5. Hi Dan,

I wonder if you might be good enough to comment on Harvey Organ's note regarding the (lack of) action in gold deliveries on the COMEX yesterday?

    Thanks
